A tornado steamrolled over Joplin, Mo., on Sunday night, knocking out a hospital and killing dozens of people across the city, according to various reports.
Joplin, which was in the direct path of the tornado, was left isolated and in the dark after the destruction, with telephone connections largely cut off and many homes without electricity after the twister touched down around 6 p.m.- read more

I live in Eastern Oklahoma and we had tornado sirens for about 40 mins the tornado weather is really high tonight I feel for the ppl of Joplin.

@ggjeffy Other videos show the reporter going from vehicle to vehicle looking for the injured.
My moms work was next to the hospital. It was completely destroyed. My prayers go out to those hit by the tornado and those assisting in the clean up.
Shouldn’t the reporter(s) be helping to look for people rather than sensationalizing at this point?

My prayers go out to them all I have friends in Joplin that I have yet to hear from and I pray that I do soon and that they are all safe.
Thats right. My dad has been pulling bodies all day long, a woman was giving birth to twins when the tornado hit and destroyed the hospital. She is trapped and we cannot get to her, a very large man was sucked into the tornado from the building. The woman that witnessed it said it was something out of a movie, they havent found the man, but I am praying he survived.

Saying it has twister equivalency 75% of the town of 50,000 ppl is gone
I live in Joplin, a mile wide tornado hit and demolished everything in its path. The part i live in got some wind damage, parts of roof blown away. Nothing major. My brother in law lost everything his house was gone. Completely flattened and he was pulling out dead bodies. Nothing like this has ever happened in joplin. The sirens went of WHEN IT TOUCHED DOWN. City policy states they cant sound sirens until touchdown. Its bullshit. We had 5 minutes to take cover. The death toll will be insane.
